Remembering Lindisfarne

In the 1970s I was a big fan of the folk rock band Lindisfarne

and for reasons that are hidden in this blogpost, I re-called the band again the other day.

I guess the band’s most well known hit is “Fog on the Tyne” from the album of the same title which was the biggest selling album of 1972.

There’s a great clip on Youtube of one of the band’s founders, Rod Clements, fronting a performance of “Meet Me on the Corner” at a folk festival in 2015.

He starts by telling the audience that it’s a very old song: “So old, even your granny might remember it!”

And the same song on The Old Grey Whistle Test in 1971.

Happy Days!
