If you like 60’s fashion, you’ll like some of the images in this post. Sadly, my hair was too wavy to grow it in a large straight waterfall as required in those days. But I still look back on those times with great fondness – exciting and full of endless possibilities.
I wonder when straighteners were invented? I needed some too back in the 60s!
I used to iron my long hair between sheets of brown paper – not a good idea.
Haha! Me too!
This us a link to my (sadly, late) friend Morag Hood interviewing the Beatles in 1964 – https://youtu.be/Dm8frWeoBA0
That’s charming! Your friend was lucky to get up close to the Fab Four. 🙂
Morning Cathy, I did enjoy looking at that montage of sixties images, really took me back. The years 1967 – 1969 were iconic ones for me as I had just entered the sixth form (we didn’t have to wear school uniform in the VIth form) and the prospect of Teaching Training College and leaving home stretched tantalisingly ahead of me. 1969 was also the year I met my husband (at college). Golden years.
Golden years indeed, Lizzie. Your school must have been very progressive. Mine insisted that 6th formers continued to wear uniform. Hence my friend and I left the day after the A levels were over despite the Head demanding we stayed until the end of term. Happy days!
Oh wow so cool. If you are keen to post re the 60s and want some inspiration, check out our novel, Only One Woman – our Facebook page is https://www.facebook.com/RenzandStella/ for details.
A great blog thanks so much, loved the video and the music. Just seen Michael Caine’s 60s documentary too…My Generation. Think you might love it. Thanks for this. Good luck.
Thanks, Jane. I’m looking forward to seeing My Generation. That’s an interesting idea – writing partnership. And writing about the 60s – great.
Oh you must see it. Also the 6 TV interviews which are going to run off the back of it with people appearing in the movie/documentary. I’ve spent my life in the music business and loved every moment of it….the 60’s were my teen years and I met my musician husband then and so we are up to our necks in music 24/7. x
It definitely sounds unmissable. Look forward to it. 🙂
Let you know when it comes out .
